Chatford’s 2-1 semi-final win over Swanley turned ugly after the final whistle. The incident occurred shortly after
Chatford / Swanley were awarded a controversial penalty late in the first / second half. Angry fans supporting both
teams started insulting each other and when the game ended, their unacceptable behaviour continued as they ran
onto the pitch and started fighting. Police managed to break up the fight and arrested twenty-two / twenty-four
people. To prevent further hooliganism, both clubs will ban all those responsible for Sunday’s incident. In spite of
this, Swanley / Chatford might still be banned from the Cup Final. They have posted a message on their website
asking fans to behave themselves and not ruin the sport.
