Food Shapes!
A. Do you know of any types of food that look like parts of the body? Match the food items (1 3) to the
parts of the body (a-c). Then listen, read the text and check your answers.

Walnuts look like a brain and they
are good for the brain too! Eat some
walnuts every day for a strong brain. You
can add a few walnuts to your salad or your cereal.
2 b Look at a slice of carrot. What does it look like? An
eye! And yes, carrots are good for your eyes. You
can have carrots in your salad or you can have some
carrot cake after lunch!
Cut a tomato in half. What does it look like?
A heart! Tomatoes are good for your heart. Add
some tomatoes to your salad or make a tomato

sandwich or some tomato soup. Tomatoes are
good for your eyes and hair too!
B. Read again and write W for walnuts, C for carrots or T for tomatoes.
1. They are good for your hair.
2. You can make a cake with these.
3. You can add these to your cereal.
4. Eat these for a strong brain.
5. They are good for your eyes.
PROJECT
Make a ‘Fuel Your Body’ poster!
A. Look at the parts of the body below. Do some research on the internet and ind information about and
pictures of two or three items of food that are good for the parts of the body in the box below.
Parts of the body: • eyes • brain • teeth • hair • heart
B. Use a large piece of card for your poster. Write the parts of the body, and stick the pictures of the items of
food you have found on the card. Use the information to write a few things about the items of food.
Carrots are good for the eyes.
C. Present your poster to the class.
