Before you read, try to predict what the text is

understand the text as a whole.

How to do better when doing listening tasks
Before you listen, look at the pictures and read
the questions and answers carefully. Make sure
you haven’t got any unknown words.
Before you listen, try to predict what the
speakers are going to talk about.

While listening, try to understand the general
idea, not every single word.
While listening, don’t assume that an answer
word that is in the activity. Listen carefully before
you answer.
When you narrate events, write the events in

Use a variety of vocabulary (e.g. adjectives)
and grammatical structures in your writing to
make it more interesting.
When writing a note, keep the text short
and give only the important information.
Remember that you don’t have to write full
sentences.
Write your irst draft and correct it. Then write
your inal draft.
Write neatly.
After you inish, check your writing. Check
punctuation and capital letters, spelling, word
order, linking words, grammar and vocabulary.
