CRIME CRIMINAL THE BOSTON REPORT 19 MARCH 1990
Major art theft!
In the early hours of yesterday morning, two unknown men
stole artwork worth 100 million dollars from the Isabella
Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.
The two thieves entered the museum in the middle of the
night, wearing police offi cer uniforms and false moustaches.
They tied up the security guards, and then stole thirteen
pieces of art, some of which they ripped out of their frames.
Surprisingly, they did not take the most valuable painting in
the museum, a masterpiece by Titian. No one knows why
they left it behind.
After the theft, the thieves disappeared. The police is
offering a one million dollar reward for any information
that will help with their arrest.
