design. On 10 April 1912 the ship left
Southampton, England, for a long journey
to New York. At 11.40 p.m. on 14 April
1912, the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank.
Unfortunately, only 706 people out of the
2,223 on board survived. The wreck of the
Titanic was discovered on 1 September
1985 by a team of scientists. The front part
of it was discovered first.
